Wow has time gone by quickly. I can't believe we are coming up on 1 year with Lexie. March 22nd is our 1 year Gotcha Day and April 1st is our one year anniversary since we arrived home to the US with Lexie! A lot has happened since I last posted during the summer. Lexie goes to preschool, does gymnastics, dance, swimming lessons and Chinese Class. She loves school and all her activities! She is such a happy, sweet little girl with a stubborn side! Just like her Mommy. She adores her big brother Cole and they have a really great relationship. She has her Baba wrapped around her little finger too.
In October we celebrated her 4th Birthday with a Dora party. Dora came to visit Lexie and her friends. She couldn't believe the real Dora was in her house! She kept hugging Dora, it was very cute. In November we traveled to our house in NH with Lexie for her first visit to that house for Thanksgiving. She kept calling it a hotel, and I kept explaining that it was her NH house and it was her bedroom in NH. That was pretty funny....Then in December we celebrated Hanukah and then took her to Disney World, what an amazing experience to see it through her eyes! That was Cole's 3rd time there in 6 1/2 years. He was excited to go back since he was tall enough for all the roller coasters and scary rides. She loves princesses so she was enamored with actually seeing all the "real princesses" and seeing the castle. I think the best part of her trip was being made up like a princess with hair extensions at the Salon at the Castle and then having lunch at the castle with all the princesses. She had so much fun and keeps asking when we can go back to Disney World. After Disney we celebrated our first Christmas with her. It was such a special Christmas, absolutely amazing! Just to watch her with all the gifts, visiting with Santa, baking holiday cookies etc. So much fun. She is so appreciative too which is even better.
After the holidays we put Lexie on ski's for the first time and she enjoyed it. She has continued to ski this winter. She would love to catch up to her brother on the black and double black diamond trails but that is going to take her along time. She is a bit nervous out there. Cole had no fear when we first put him on ski's at the age of 3 and absolutely loved it. The more difficult the trail the better. Lexie definitely has a more cautious personality.
In February we celebrated the Chinese New Year by going to a huge party that our adoption agency hosts. It was so great to see some of the families we traveled to China with as well as many friends we have made over the last few years. It was a wonderful party. Lexie and Cole had a great time doing many crafts, watching many different shows (chinese acrobats, the lion dancing etc.). We also shared Chinese New Year with Lexie's class at school last week. She wore her red, silk chinese dress and was so excited to have all her friends see her dressed like that.
We are now planning her 1 year Gotcha Day celebration and then off to Mexico for 2 weeks in April. We can't wait to share that trip with her since we have been going there for many years!
I will post some new pictures finally. What a difference from almost a year ago!
